Im sure you will make a couple of signings, its where you fell short this season, especially once you picked an injury or two up.

Our board hasnt made me think anything, i like to think my education has allowed me to form my own opinion. O'Meley and Fitz are new, and are both top drawer players. Moa was never fit and still made more yards per carry than most SL props so will be a great addition. Manu was off colour most of the season and Lauaki will be a like a new player the length of time he took to arrive. Cusack missed the entire season pretty much so will be like having a new prop. Berrigan played with injections every week and Washy our main 13 was absent for the season other than needing to play in the halves due to injury.
That to me sounds pretty positive.
O'Meley
Berro
Cusack
Fitz
Manu
Washy
Bench of
Moa
Dowes
Lauaki
Houghton
Looks pretty good to me. Plenty of cover too if we get injuries with the likes of Tickle, Burnett, Radford, Turner, Whiting etc

It wasn't meant as a personal insult, what I was trying to say was the Moa signing seemed to be dragged out and in effect made what (IMO) was a pretty average contract extension into a marquee signing.
You're pack does look good on paper, but it's how that transfers into on pitch performances that will matter and I have thought you're pack has looked good and in some position better over the last couple of years.

I think the pack has lacked aggression over the last couple of years, having only seen the Tongan mafia together the last few games it certainly added some biff, add Fitz and O'Meley to that and it creates a pack with some aggression which is what we have lacked.

Ok, i dont think the board did the dragging out on purpose though. Big Sam's agent was playing rovers and celtic off against FC to get him a bettter deal which he ultimately did. Pretty average is harsh. He has looked very good and very aggressive for us if not very raw. He's still very much a project but is absolutely one that i believe will succeed in SL.
I agree its how they transfer to the pitch. We've had a decent squad for a few seasons now and with our injury problems and lack of leadership not to mention a lack of a scrum half we've failed. I think we've solved 2 of the 3 issues and we can only cross fingers for the 3rd.

Our pack has lacked leadership since 2005. If fitz can stay fit I expect him to provide it in bucketloads. The pack isn't the problem at Hull, it's the coach

He may have been telling FC we were interested, but I have it on good authority we never approached him, the club also stated they were not interested and had no dealings with regards to Sam Moa.
I dont profess to know much about the behind the scenes stuff at the club, but this came from someone who does.

I have it on good authority you were and you did make an offer. Wonder who's authority is best?

I wished we had and got him, but we didn't. The source I got it from I am happy to believe.
