Surely the first criteria is to forecast the winners - with the tie breakers coming into play afterwards
(Sorry "finalists" -dont affect me --but AG and Amy might be just feeling a little miffed Mr Mod!!)

Criticising the Prediction League organiser. Sod banning execution is the way to go
I have had some correspondence on this ( a lot).
Both Amy and AG did get both teams rigt however the points were being awarded to the person who predicted aech teams points closest to their actual total. Both of the ties ended in draws although i accept that two players got the results the wrong way around. Throughout the rounds and the playoffs in particular i have organised the points system to reflect the skill / challenge of giving points for those who get closer to an actual teams points scored.
I have not done it as a simple win or lose as that to me is often quite easy eg Leeds vs Celtic is a bit of a no brainer. Predicting saints vs Giants to within two points was a real challenge It is using the same principle as spread betting the closer you are to the actual result the more you win the further away you are the more you lose.
This at times has created anomalies. Most noticeable in the playoffs. However all of the players who got through to the play offs did so because they had been the best at predicting teams scores wher they picked up bonus points for being within 6 or 12 points of a teams totals. there was often very little difference in the number of players who picked a winner ( ie 1 in 2 chance) but the BETTER players got bonus points for being close with the points. Wadski would have moved up about 3 places at one point if he had not thought Saints were going to get 50 past the Giants a team
I know it seems unfair to those who went out but the rules were in place before the play offs started. There is no point in doing we are the champions because we won the plate but lost the grand final.
With hindsight i should have organised the playoff similar to the league with only bonus points being given for points as well as points for predicting the team who won. Hindsight is a wonderful thing however i am still trying to develop psychic hindsight
It is unfair but they were the rules before the players gave their predictions. What i have tried to do was to make the whole process, different and more challenging and exciting than a simple win or lose competition. Sometimes i spent over an hour working out the results. It was not perfect but for next year i will look at at making it simpler and fairer after learning from the mistakes of this year.
