I think the bus prices are a joke around here, but the K-Day ticket is a steal at £3.
If you can use a K-Day to there, I think you could get a bus to Hebden Bridge and then a shorter train journey to Oldham aswell? It might be slightly cheaper also.
The train ticket pricing system is a bit of a shambles and many don't really understand it.
