Only the very special players (e.g. Rooney and Fabregas) at that age have such great decision-making abilities.
Totally agree.
Valencia actually has a very good final ball, when he decides to use it. Sometimes he takes too many touches, or doesn't give the forwards enough time to get into position. Still over time, this will improve I'm sure.
If the media like ITV and Sky stopped comparing him to Ronaldo, it might go some way to helping the lad's confidence.
"If Ronaldo had the ball he'd run here then here, then shoot." Valencia and indeed no other player in world football is like Ronaldo, he's one of those geniouses which come along once in a while. They should just forget Ronaldo and let Valencia get on with his own game, same with Nani IMO.
I thought Carrick had his best game for a long time last night, his distribution was excellent, and his goal was awesome. Once again Ryan Giggs had a fantastic game, as did Berbatov when he came on, some of his touches and passing is quite unreal, a joy to watch at times.
Rooney gave away a lot of ball, which he has done in the past few games, quite uncharacteristically. Ferdinand and Vidic looked very shaky, especially with a new keeper behing them, seemed to be a real lack of communication.
Wolfsburg played really well, and I'm glad to have two wins from two difficult opening games. Hopefully, we can get a win in Moscow, then we can think about resting players in the last couple of group games.
