There are degrees of success though. Only winning something is truly worthy of celebrating, IMHO. You can take consolation, even satisfaction in other things, but not celebrate.

Hull's 2005 challenge cup win was an achievement worth celebrating, and I am very envious of it.
Their 2006 grand final appearance was something that squad and the club should have taken a great deal of satisfaction in and I am slightly envious.
The 2008 CC appearance was a consolation for a disappointing season.

We aren't celebrating, we're looking on the bright side and putting a season that outstripped most expectations into perspective. But I know you've waited a while, so on you go.

7-3 if its played for in every Derby game in the last 3 seasons.
It's not, unfortunately for you, some of us have been around longer than 2007.

Just saying its been an excellent season and our progress has been great.

I've been a season pass holder at Rovers since 1989 and I'm immensely proud of where my club is now - there was a long time when I thought I'd never witness what I have in the last 3 or 4 years, so your snide comments make no difference, I've never been happier as Rovers fan.

Tonight was closure on Rovers best season for the best part of 25 years.
A double over Saints, continued domininance over Hull FC.
4th in the league ladder, 4 Dream Team players.
Attendances standing firm in the face of a recession coupled with an away following thats the best and most vocal in the British game.
Players committing themselves to extended contracts along with the best young coach in the game also extending his stay.
The emergance of Kris Welham who played in every single league and cup game.
Roots of strong Academy and Reserve sides growing firmer.
Its a work in progress that has improved year on year for the last 5
seasons.

Compare that to your club and it puts things into perspective so enjoy your night. :D

the word that springs to mind for that bit of drivvel is "DELUDED" :SUBMISSION:

Rovers fans make plenty of snide comments. Hence this thread.

I got quite riled up last week, I'll have you know. If FCimp had backed his judgement, I'd now have a sig of his (or her for all I know) choice until Feburary.

I am too from Hull. So clamped. :P

Awww bless.
As i said how they must have ate away at you.
Only 2 trophies up for grabs and although we have neither we came a damn sight closer to both then Hull FC.
Deal with it and spend a bit more time with your poor husband is my advice.

No need to wink, you're quite right. These forums are quite frankly ridiculous most of the time. Anyway, as I said, I'm pleased you're enjoying your night.

rover49 wrote:You talk rubbish GML, how do we compare your list above with the winning of the 9's and the fairplay league, which as we all know is the true mark of a top team, Leeds must be spitting feathers at missing out on these two top prizes
