Ah Lostock, I vaguely remember playing against them for Hope High in about 93/94 but for some reason I had them down as being from Wigan!!! Then again it also took me about 5 years to work out Castleford weren't Castlefield
Need to add ...
coached for 25+ years at a soccer-mad school ... no help until the last 5 years,
was formally told on (at least 20) times that I had to stop - if anyone knows me this was fuel (I was Union Gen Sec in my last 5 years),
never knew (outside DoE) more enjoyment, more reward, more support from pupils and parents, more sheer why-we-teach,

You're right fella... John Blackburn and the team do a good job for the Reds in the schools and the community, glad stuff like this is working out in Manchester and further, lets hope it continues

Living in Sale myself I'm not aware of any other RL initiatives in the local schools. I know lads who went to schools like Alty Grammar & St Ambrose and they only got to play Union or Lacrosse!!! What are the chances of other local schools following your example?
Was at Buile High on monday to watch my lad play rugby league for the school. He goes to bth(blessed thomas holford) and to his delight when he started there in september they had had rugby league in place for the last 2 years.St Ambrose also had at team playing.Good to see rugby league being played in trafford......
