Seems like they are doing their upmost to play this down as a gimmick, as they don't want the opposing team to use it to stimulate their senses and batter them.
It's a tough call they know both the Catalans and ourselves have a big pack, one that will result in a bruising game win or lose, yet they know Wigan are more than capable of beating them to OT.
With the easy victory they had against HKR last week would that be the best choice?
They are trying to say that the owner will have a big say in it, yet surely it should be the coach, who would you choose and why?

i think they will choose us if we get through as they have an immense record against us
we put a peformance at leeds earlier in the season which i think was our best of the season but we still lost
and recent history doesnt go well with leeds
they wont underestimate us but i feel we will be the main choice for leeds if we where to beat catalan
they will never choose wigan like as u say on the day wigan can beat them
i think with kr they had a lot missing against leeds and with full strength can really put up a rough and tuff performance
i feel with catalan leeds might think that they could be saints again so they would choose either wigan or kr if catalan beat us
I agree with Trav that they should choose us based on their form against us - especially at Headingly. If they are genuine about thinking this is a gimmick though they should follow that through and state as such at their press conference and play the lowest finisher. They should be massively confident of beating anyone though and they won't be worried about dodging anyone.
They will pick the winners of the Giants vs Catalans game. That way tey can say that they will have beaten all the teams on the way to the GF. HkR, then us / cats then Saints or the other winners in the final. That will be there thinking.
the conspirators among us will say that they will pick whoever the RFL pick so that they can have the dream final that they want with the glamour teams in the final Leeds vs Saints / Wigan.
If they do pick us i hope we hammer them so much that win or lose they are physically shattered that they get hammered in the final.

is play off money shared out equally amongst all the teams though?? or just the two competing teams.. if this is the case then they will pick the easiest game as any extra income will be shared by a few teams and leeds wont benefit that much

As far as I'm aware it's all put into a central pot and then shared out according to how far you get in the playoffs.
Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua Of he who was made God in a world without Hope. And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say? Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say "Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war"

As a Leeds fan I'm not too bothered who we pick. There won't be an easy team. If we want to be champions again we have to beat the best teams. Any of the teams left in are well capable of turning us over on their day, so we'd be best served by making sure we're on top form. I think the league table should suggest that if we're in top form we should beat any of them. Anything below top form and we'll struggle whoever we play. Hence I'd just go for the lowest ranked team, as it would be without this "club call" nonsense and get on with it.
I would imagine the RFL won't be too happy if their fancy new play-off system yields the same matches in weeks 1 and 3, but that's life.
