He got a very good last Super League payday from Rovers at a time when no other club wanted him.
On the field his performances were ordinary and that is being flattering.
He and players like him are the very reason why the new rules on imports were introduced. Paying handsome money to ordinary Aussies like Gannon is thankfully now frowned upon.
Makali and Stan are quite rightly regarded as legends and that is because of years of service they have given. They have also both shown genuine affection for Hull KIngston Rovers.
They are part of the fabric of the club unlike one season mercenaries like Gannon.
I seriously think you need to examine your priorities and your judgement if you can praise Gannon and slag Stan & Makali in the same post.
Where have I slagged them off, I am the same as most HKR fans, I think they have been great for the club, but what I don't do is hide the fact that they are both now not up to a top 4 SL squad, if thats slagging off in your mind, then so be it.
As for Gannon being a one season 'mercenary' as you put it, the bloke signed a two season deal, but was released after one. He did the job he was brought in to do and as with ALL players who have pulled the shirt on and helped the cause, I thank them.
The point I was trying to make which seems to have whizzed over you is that some of our fans are all of a sudden seeing players we could only dream of signing a few years ago with derogatory hindsight and now have a pop at certain players without justification, yet Stan can have a $hite game, drop balls, give penalties away and its a case of beacus its Stan its glossed over, yet Fitzy can play great for 78 mins and then have one knock on and some of our 'fans' would hang him from the RM stand.
