Despite being under contract for another year, Paul King is allowed to speak to other clubs.
We've been in talks with him before too.

He's 'done' even more so then Fielden.
A hull fan on their board was saying he's in talks with Celtic and they thought even they may be above his current level of ability.
I'd rather stick with what we've got tbh.

Agreed, if we are looking at king and Thakery we may as well not bother, both are shot, King was a fine player but he has totally gone same for Thakery, a couple of good seasons go to there heads and they take the eye off the ball and all too quick they find themselves struggling for form with no realistic chance over ever recapturing former glories.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

So would I.
I think it's time we re-adopted an old Wigan attitude wherein "if he's not good enough for them, he's not good enough for us either".

Agreed.
We shouldnt be looking at players deemed not good enough for a team that finished 12th.
A quality prop, yeah. A journeyman SL prop who's best years are behind him, no thanks.

Why?
You won't find any Wiganers praising Fielden's spell at the club.

You must have missed my post in reply to the suggestion we should sign Paul King.
Fieldens best is easily behind him but so is Kings and Fieldens best was lightyears ahead of Kings.
If we went for King we're more foolish(or tight) then first feared.

Oi, it wasn't a suggestion.
It was an observation!

TBH, I would keep, Fielden, O'Carroll, Presscott, Feka, Coley or any of our young up and coming props before entertaining bringing in someone like Thackery or King.
