The old days were better, when Greg McAllum was in charge of the refs, and there were powerful refs round like Presley, Cummins, Bob Connolly and Kirkpatrick. The only one with any authority left from that era is Ganson, when he retires the cupboard will be bare.
I'd like to see Ganson be the refs controller, can't see him being a yes man, he'd enforce tough standards and he wouldn't shy away from making decisions. Or Kirkpatrick, if he wanted to come back.
