It is always unpopular to criticise players who give 110% but the Wigan of old didn't go on its cup run by being nice to players if better ones were available. Mick Ford and Andy Gregory springs to mind.
With TL in are in s similar situation as back then in that we have a decent-ish 7 but could do with a better one.

Every club has decentish in certain positions and could do with better like Wigan did pre cap, but it was pre cap. Worse halves have won SL titles in the SL/salary cap era.
My opinion of TL is he is a very good half needing options, the best broken field running half in the comp and the most willing to defend.
Halves who run sideways invariably are looking for options, we give him non, when he does have options on the odd sparky Wigan performance he looks quality, a coach is what is required rather than a new 7 in my opinion in the modern age of Rugby League.
