There's quite a few pundits reckoning that the Championship is too small so maybe one down and two up - though that then leaves problems with the size of Champ 1.

It’s funny how people are only against expansion when its their clubs head that’s on the chopping block. I.e. when they aren’t getting it right on the field and/or they are playing in a creaky old stadium in front of small crowds. The fact is both Salford and Leigh have had over a century to build up a decent fan base, including periods of professional top flight Rugby. Yet even now both clubs crowds and on field performances are really no better than the new comers that they deride, and in both cases are significantly worse than Catalans. I think you know in your heart that within a year of being in SL Toulouse would have better facilities and higher crowds than Salford.

No new stadium = No SL.

Is it only me who couldn't give a flying £$*% about Leigh, so what they've gone down. They like everyone else knew the rules at the start of the season so yes they did deserve to go down. In fact I find it rather amusing if I'm being honest. We might as well enjoy it now, because in the next 2-3 years we'll be in exactly the same boat

As for the expansion of the game, we are only early into the experiment. At the moment, it appears that Catalans are getting good crowds and have performed well. However, the French international team looks worse than it ever has done. They are dreadful. Thus, it appears, at the moment, the claim that having Catalans in SL would improve the standard of the French team is not working out. I have read a few posts on the VT that would indicate catalans have had problems but I don't know what to believe. Sadly the Crusaders have been an embarrassment.

I am struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to expansion.

It's at this point I should point out that, almost exclusively, it is fans of other clubs proclaiming it as unfair, rather than ourselves. We were resigned to our fate months ago
