I've thought that we'd
need to promote another young player and I hope we do... but Hodgson being U-21 means he'll count as home grown next year (only), I think. So another signing from outside the club is possible. I'anson would need to be replaced by a club-trained player. If Gene goes, the arrival of Cook and the probability of Walker playing in the back row balances that. Prop is pretty well covered - something like Mills for Bibb might go down well. Another 3-quarter to provide cover would be good, but I'd hope a reserve player might be given a shot.
The important signings were the players we've retained and re-signed. The number of players available who would improve our team is pretty small - that is why we are third
. Its not like the end of 2007 - improving a good squad is harder than improving an average one and there is no point making signings for signings sake.
