It is also a cheap shot by the club as he would be entitled to a testemonial next year (he will now miss a chance to earn a tax free lump to help his retirement), it is not the way we should treat loyal sevants of this club.
He joined in May 2003 (Hudge paid for his air fare out of his own pocket), how does that equate to a testimonial year in 2010?
Our longest serving player, the only one left from the "Linnane revolution". My favourite Rovers player, I am seriously gonna miss the big fella if this is confirmed.

not sure if the contract situation and apparent personality clash would have been an issue if mac was not a png player but an aussie/english,think some of the island nations get lesser treatment not just at KR but all over Moa is getting a supposed rough deal at FC,think clubs expect more for less and dont give enough respect to these guys......shame generally great part of most teams

My mistake I thought he was here in 2000, but still I think he should make the squad every match (if fit). Who paid his air fare is irrelevent as I dont think Mick Vella & the rest of our overseas players pay for thier trips home. I would just like to see him go out in style with the fans giving him a fitting send off he deserves.

If he goes it's a disgrace ! Better than Mills who's a waste of space and the bst impact forward off the bench we have .
Is that a way to treat your longest serving player .

Taxi for Morgan.
and whose to say mills will be here next season, haven't we released players before with a year left on their contracts, jim gannon springs to mind. I don't have any insider knowledge by the way only speculating.
One thing about morgan he has never shown any sentiment in moving players on and improving the squad, maybe that's one of the main reason's we're sat in 3rd place 3 years into superleague, whilst our neighbours are languishing near the bottom needing a big clear out of long established "problem" players.
For me, it's time to thank macca for his great service to our club and wish him well in his future career and if our paths cross again in the future I would expect him to get a big cheer from the east stand. the club has to move forward though.

Just a thought.
Do you not think that Hull KR have a duty of care to Macca , they should stand by him in his time of need . The same could be said of other players indiscretions who are still at the club.
Macca would run through a brick wall for Rovers , you know that and so does everyone in the East stand so face upto the fact if he goes it will be a disgrace.

So have a clear out then and get rid of the dead wood and underperforming players , Fitzhenry gone (good) , Fisher plays when he feels like it , I'lanson , Mills , Galea been very poor for the last 5 or 6 games. Replace with State of Origin or International players to move forward. We need a barnstorming prop who can bump off players not another second row who we can convert into a prop.
