Having spoken to people at the club they were always scaling back during the season.

The majority of the squad came back from the world cup physically and mentally shattered.

There was little or no pre-season before the players had to attempt to peak for a WCC and, shortly thereafter an earl;y cup tie against Saints.

The training and game plan have been deliberately scaled down all season long.

If you listened to Mclennan's post match interviews after the cas game he said they had targeted that game, after the break, for quite some time as the point to scale up the training, scale up the preparation and scale up the performance.

If you watched us in the game we played a very different brand of rugby to that we have played all year. It was very good.

So, with that in mind it is not an unreasonable proposition to state that the Case game was our best performance because it was pivotal and they had geared up for it. Not only that but they executed the game plan to perfection.

I don't give a love about the opposition and their lack of intensity. I was more concerned with how we looked in the run in to the playoffs and our performance and discipline were spot on.

So, my enlightened friend, that is why I consider it our best performance of the year. Now, am I a fekkwitt or can you offer me a more reasoned and justified rebuttal?

Quote:Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.

Can you tell me how many knock-ons there were please because I can't remember that many, oh and by the way it was very wet that night which inevitably leads to dropped ball. As for executing a perfect game plan and beating the in-form side in the Grand Final I think I would call that a complete performance.

How has it got to the stage where leeds fans have become so negative? especially as we are back to back champions, At least in the old days "whinos" had an excuse to be negative now you have none.

I'm not cynical, just well informed

The short pre-season and slow build up was made public very early by the coach and he specifically highlighted the differences in performnce due to this but alas it was ignored or not accepted by many!!
I will say though i hope our new found discipline continues because earlier in the season it's been very poor.

What was the difference between playing poorly in a World Cup and playing poorly in a Tri-Nations series?

I'd guess the numbers of Leeds players involved and the length of time the tournament ran over?

After your line about whinos finding something to moan about, i knew throwing that little feckwitt line in would draw you off your horse for a long winded diatribe.

Good job dave man.

Eh? I posted on a thread I am interested in. I posted a thought out and articulate opinion. WTF are you on about? Do you understand how message boards work? If you want to discuss the issue at hand that is fine but do not try to play me you insignificant stain on Richie Ramrods' underpants because you're as out of your depth as a Morecambe cockle picker.

Or did you just get embarrassed because you weren't bright enough to articulate a rebuttal so you thought you'd post that you were trolling?
