Edit: Featherstone won that Challenge Cup while ending the season 12th in a 16 team first division, missing out on relegation by one place and one point.
Their record was:

I was there, I still have the program somewhere. Fantastic day, always great to see Hull lose. One of my strongest memories is seeing Hull fans spilling off a train completely clothed head to foot in black and white. Some girls had bought scarves and cut the top and bottom off and were wearing them as leggings. they were like walking humbugs.
