People get the politicians they deserve - they vote them in. The council reflects the population, sadly. This town could be wonderful. I've lived all over the world and seen far worse. The "sink" estates in Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield are far worse than Hull. Parts of Sydney and London make Hull look positively delightful. One thing constantly puzzles me, why, when we have a brilliant waterfront do we not develop it? Believe me other cities around the world would love to have this facility. Another question for the politicians and citizens to answer.

As said the people are the best thing about Hull, once you get over the accent and apparent "roughness" you won't find a kinder more helpful and friendly group of people anywhere. Yes we have scroats, doesn't everywhere?, but on the whole it is the down to earth folk of Hull (and the patties!) I miss the most.
WEST COAST PIRATES NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......
