To be fair Hull gets a dealt a bad hand by the press, its not a top ten but its far from the worst place in England to live.

The probelm is I'm sure these polls are judged on the best parts of each city. Hulls best areas are no where near as good as Londons, manchesters, Liverpools etc but conversely the bad areas of Hull are light years ahead of most big city's. There tends to be shootings and stabbings on a weekly basis in the big cities whereas in Hull it is a rarer occurance.

If we focused on the positives we could be.

2 SL clubs, 1 premiership football club, great amateur sporting facilities in all areas.
Some good colleges, 2 universities (1 red brick)

Good theatres, Great music scene for all tastes (youth orchestras, jazz etc)Arts

Shopping area( St Stephens, Prinny quay)

Low cost housing.
There is a lot of great things about Hull, the best being the people.

but that doesn't make for 'good' tv though , but evidently Phil and Kirsty mincing around bemoaning the fact that they can't get a decent cafe latte does.

But hey ho , as Paul Weller sang ' That's Entertainment'.

As anyone would know who has lived away from the city or travelled to other places there are far worse places than our city to live.
