I'd agree that Richard's response is unapologetic but I didn't detect arrogance.
My take was Richards was speaking Honestly whilst the player was reading a pre-prepared statement.
Quote:Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.
I have to say that I think the RU has got this right, coming down hard on Richard's and since reflecting, reducing Williams ban. To me this is cheating of the highest order, to fake an injury to allow you to break the rules to bring on a new sub... that is despicable!
It was dumb of Williams to get himself caught up in this mess but if your boss was putting you under pressure to do something so low given that he does have a huge influence on your current playing career, would you do it? He clearly should not have done it and a 4 month ban seems to strike the right balance. As for Richards, he deserves everything he has got!

Especially compare & contrast Dean Richard's entirely unapologetic and arrogant response with that of the player involved.

Change is inevitable ...except from a vending machine!

If it was a one off OK but this was a regular event it seems
Cheating perhaps - bending the rules perhaps - certainly show thorough preparation!!!
If the player is under instruction to carry out this what does he do refuse? Richards doesn't look like the kind of bloke you say no to without there being some serious consequences
Three year ban - some punishment!!!
Your job is to say to yourself on a job interview does the hiring manager likes me or not. If you aren't a particular manager's cup of tea, you haven't failed -- you've dodged a bullet.

Not following. Can you expand?
