I've heard a scurrilous rumour that there are fans out there able to have a sensible debate.

Possibly because most sensible posters on the whole tend to stay on their own forum. Hence the only opinions they read from other fans are from those who want to stir it. Hence "Ah, he's from Wigan, that's what Wiganers think.".

It was Nathan Brown who said "we maybe don't have the most talented guys but we are the best team".
After the semi I don't think anyone would disagree with him.
I think it's fair comment that other clubs have squads with more talented players than Hudds, ie Saints & Leeds. The fact that Hudds were the best team out of the four in the semis proved that Brown's comments were spot on.
Your in the CC Final and third in the League with the best defence. Don't get so touchy when folk critisise your team.

Spot on and NB is right we are one of the best as a team, and as it's a team sport that is a great attribute to have.

In a way I'm pleased we don't have a load of stars, who think they are above the rest of the team.

How many times did we see the Saints play one man rugby last weekend, too many of them thought individually I'm better than anyone else in my team and I'll win it for us and have all the glory, each and every one of them failed.

The side with the better team spirit, the desire to support each other collectively see it through won the day.

why? because i merely stated an opinion that wigan do on paper have the better team? if you read my full comment i would put most of your success down to the fantastic coach you have. hes introduced new methods in defence and on the back of that your attack has improved. sometimes its not the quality of players you have its the coach you have for example look at warrington who now smith is in charge look a different team but when cullen and lowes where in charge they looked like a laughing stock.
