Thorne Pale Ale available at the Yorkshire Grey from this weekend (formerly Hogshead) and watch out for it soon at the Gatehouse.

Two belting porters this week.

Elland 1872 Porter and Derventio Versuvius ( unintentional spelling error on their pump clip i think ;) ) both at a dangerous 6.5%. If I had to pick a winner I would have to go with the Elland. The Derventio was a bit sweet for my taste, despite reminding me of Old Peculier of old

I'll give that a go. Any idea where the Best Bitter is available currently?

The Elland brew is very nice. I'm sure I'd appreciate the other one too. :)

Visited a very nice Pub yesterday lunchtime. The Chequers Inn at Ledsham (approx 8 miles east of Leeds) about a mile from the A1 junction with the A63.

Excellent setting, lovely food and a nice pint of Brown Cow Best Bitter. :)

Get yourself down to that Greek resort on the Lincolnshire coast....Clee-eth-or-pees to the Trawlerman near Pleasure Island.
A full carvery for only £3.49 Monday to Saturday and real ales such as Jennings and Hobgoblin.
Paradise.

Was in Thirsk at the new Wetherspoons lodge yesterday.....very nice...loads of real ales.

Saltburn at the Ship Inn .....only Tetley Cask.

Runswick Bay the Cliffemount Hotel....Black Sheep.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

Can't fault you there.

Had some stonking beers this evening. Jarrow Caulker, a light, refreshing and tasty beer, a Black Country beer whose name I forget but was very tasty and the irrepressible Ashover Coffin Lane Stout. As my kids would say Mint

Sunday after the game ... The Old Angel

Asked a pint of Thorne Best Bitter ... What they served me was bright amber in colour ... it was of course refused!
