However, in the same period i would say that Scott Taylor and in particular Dominic Dee have come on in leaps and bounds and can now be seen as better prospects.

Would agree with that to a certain extent, though i don't really see Ryan as a prospect in the same sense you describe both Scott and Dom as there is an age difference of 3-4 years. Also Ryan is proven outside the comfort zone of acadamy/reserve grade rugby whereas the other two have yet to taste that level of physicality and i would say that neither are any better than Ryan was at the same stage in his development.

But is guess its all about opinions.

How old is Dee? Assumed he was in his 20s with him coming to the club after a spell at Bradford i think.

I have to confess i don't know (i assumed he was 18/19). But if he is in his 20's he needs loaning out to a NL club sharpish imo to further aid his development.

Saints by plenty, by miles even!

HKR are about as poor as it gets.

Shame it doesn't keep the sound like the full east stand of HKR. That's atmosphere.

He's 19.

Right decision to get rid of Esders imo, with the Reserves format changing next year we need to bring some younger players through. Taylor will take his place in the squad next year.

Good luck to him at Quins or wherever he ends up.

Do you not think he was up to Super League standard? I'm pretty dissappointed to hear this news. We signed him then never gave him a chance, what's the point? I would like to know Digger-the-Dog/Bandito's views on this?

He'll just back the club to the hilt, as normal. HKR can do no wrong in his eyes.

btw. I know it isn't a massive shock, but do we know Esders is off, or is it just the OP saying it at this point?

From what I have seen so far, I do not paticularly rate Taylor and do not see what the hype is about. I could be eating humble pie in a few years though.

R.B.A wrote:I think we all wanted Ryan to do well at Rovers because its always good to see a local kid come through. The reality is though that he hasnt consistantly excelled in the reserves this year and although i still think he will make a Super League player, he wont be a 'top 4' Super League player.
We also have to take into account the age change in the reserves next year so i think we will see a clutch of players over the age of 20 released over the coming weeks.

Nail on the head.

Other young players will be promoted to the first team squad next season.
