Although it is nice to see they seem to think IFL has already spoken to him.
I love the idea of McGuire, i just wonder with him seemingly on the cusp of a first grade job in the NRL would he come?
I think Lam will still be the man at Wigan next year.
Oh jon, your not accusing the MEN of poor journalsim are you.
I do think your right about Lam being here next year, in what position is probably still undecided but for me it should only be in an assistant role with if possible McGuire as the top man. I think under Lam S Tomkins would develop even further and in that respect it would be nice to have him around just for that, plus are offense may come up with something a bit different were he involved.
I was just thinking to myself regarding Noble, that when a coach comes in you usually see that in particular players there performances improve because the coach see's areas of there game he can better, yet I can't think of a single player who was playing first team rugby before Noble got here who has significantly improved, as an example I use Wilkin at saints and the vast improvements he made to his game whilst under Anderson's tuition.
I must admit I do like the look of that, and Lenegan if your reading we have a salary cap on players but on coaches we do not, so please make this happen, especially if were not signing any players.
Wigan vs Leeds finals aggregate score.
Wigan 178 - 64 Leeds
Wigan wins - 6 Leeds wins - 0
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!
The McGuire, Lam, Wane combination looks just about as good as it can get. Lets hope that IL is really in for him and that he'll want to come here.
Neil Barker may have got the story from here but wasn't it picked up here from Andy Wilson's article in the Guardian?
NB refers to IL's trip to Oz and talking to McGuire. I do hope there's been contact between them since.
That sounds like our wish list really, doesn't it!
Great conbination of backs and forwards experience in the assistants and a great all round tactician leading the team
That definatley would be a good combination that

if i were i betting man id put money on that mcguire to be coach next yr!
We are not signing Webb as he cannot get a visa, were he able to he would be a Wigan player next year.
Lam is a name that continues to be banded about, its also unusual for him to start publicly stating he would love to come back to Wigan, makes me think he is already signed and sealed in some capacity and on the PR offensive.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.
I have been thinking the same as jonh regarding Lam. Usual practice when approached by the press regarding possible moves by coaches and players is to either deny it or say nothing. The fact he has been so vocal about returning to Wigan in any role makes me think it is a done deal and he is trying to emphasise his commitment to the role to get fans behind him before he arrives.

The fact he is saying that he is prepared to come in any coaching role makes me thing he will be assistant to a head coach next season.
Having seen the MEN it may be that McGuire is going to be the new head coach as this is the second different news paper to link him to us.
McGiure as head coach Lammy as backs coach, add wane as forwards coach.
We just then need to sort out the conditioning team but no doubt McGuire will bring his own man from down under should he be appointed!!
