Take the 2 truly World Class performers out of the team and look what happens...though I do think that the Australians bowled really well in that little spell before the close and Bopara was desperately unlucky, it still doesn't excuse the shots from Bell (yet-a-fucking-gain) and Cook and the fact we were 58-0 and looking OK.
Looking on the bright-ish side, if we said at the start of the summer that we'd be 1-1 going into the final test of the series then I think a lot of us would have taken that...we can win at The Oval, come on England!!
I'd like to think we'll show some pride today, but in reality we'll probably be skittled before lunch having added another 20 or 30 runs to our overnight score.

Story will never change with Bell. Problem is, the selectors can't face they've basically wasted years trying to get him to come good at international level. The man is weak mentally and has shown, at times, nothing but pure idiocy in his choice of shot. I really couldn't give a hoot about his average in test cricket, it's clear as day, for me, that he's not good enough.
I'm not blaming this result on Bell, but when will the selectors grow a pair and bring someone else in?

For Bell, also see Harmison. Why do the selectors keep bringing him back? He's as mentally unstable as a Wigan player in a nightclub toilet/car park, and like Bell i couldn't give 2 hoots how well they do in county cricket, the pair of them can never hope to be consistent test match players.

So far this morning:- 8 overs, 41 runs, 2 wickets.
How the hell can such an approach be justified?
