I had a set of Yonex woods some years ago when they were the dogs doo-dahs, then I inherited my dads 1970s Ping woods - proper wooden woods, make a proper wooden noise when you smack a ball with them, the driver is actually the size of a modern fairway "wood" so you either hit the ball right or you don't hit it at all - I love those clubs and the last time I went on the driving range (last year) I picked them out of the bag after three years of not lifting a club in anger and just carried on from where we'd left off, I was still crap but love hitting a ball with those clubs - and they get an audience from a generation of golfers who have never really linked the word "woods" with the stuff that grows on trees.
