I think he would be ok visa wise as the criteria is, I believe, either first grade coach in the NRL or an international coach.

Alternatively just call him a director of rugby.
This is what was mentioned to me as being our loop hole although there was a bone of contention due to the fact PNG are classed as a second tier nation, again not sure how accurate this info is though.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.
Re working visa's etc.
Under the new immigration regs and the RFL's relationship with Immigration & Border Agency. I have been led to believe that if the RFL give an incoming individual their approval then a visa will be issued.
Sounds as though it's an agreed procedure between the I & BA and the RFL
This is rough expanation of how it was put to me.
As for Lam or McGuire or anyone else I've no idea.

Has no one thought that the Lam talk could be that he is coming as assistant to Noble for 1 year then to take over the head coaching job in 2011. This would give continuity in the coaching roll and give him time to get up to speed in Super League. Everyone is a winner Noble get his one year Lam gets to be head coach in 2011 and the club has a nice smooth hand over.

He will also command respect from the players he played with. The guy is a winner.
1, We're playing pretty decent football at the moment (don't get dragged into this 5 drives and a kick fallacy that's banded around here).
2, Who's still left on the roster that played alongside Lam? Just Lockers isn't it?
I'm not convinced that Lam would be a forward move from what we have at the moment, I guess only time will tell!

This is exactly what I'm starting to think now that Vievers is leaving.

I agree hes had a couple of years in OZ learning his trade and it certainly showed with PNG that he can get results out of a limited team.
