In all honesty it is extremely unlikely that Rovers can get to the Grand Final. It's probably a bad thing to create an expectation that we can.
It is in fact going to be difficult to win even 1 play off game.
As things stand we'll be away to St Helens and then home to Wigan. We'll play Wigan after the toughest game possible (away to team 1), Wigan will be coming off the easiest game possible (home to team eight).
Now I'm not saying we can't beat Wigan but beating them in a knock out play off game is a huge task even at home. Of course if Rovers do manage it then they will then be 'rewarded' with another away trip to (probably) St Helens.
Finishing 4th would be a very good effort but the play off system gives little reward for it.

In past years if you had finished 4th, you would of had to play
5th at home then winners of 3 v 6th then losers of the 1 v 2
Although they get a second bite its does seem harder for teams 3 and 4 and possibly easier for teams 5 to 8
Its definately easier for teams 7 and 8 - that is why its slightly harder for 1-6.
Also that is 3 wins in a row to reach the GF. If we win 2 in a row (with a 2nd chance, if we lose our first), we'd be at OT - which is easy to say, much harder to do.
The advantage of being top 2 has been most eroded. You only had to win once to get to the GF, from there before - now it is twice. Apart from H advantage it isn't better than 3/4th.

I think we have a very good chance of beating both, especialy if we are starting to peak at the right time.

I wouldnt have though the fixture combinations for us in 2005 would have been as predictable
