Sidebottom is in the squad at the expense of Monty. With doubts over Flintoff's fitness and Broads form could we see Harmo and Ryan both playing?

If Flintoff isn't fit, do England bolster the batting and go with an allrounder like Luke Wright rather than another bowler?

I said yesterday, and I'll stick by it, Harmison for Flintoff if he isn't fit. No point going for a bits n pieces cricketer like Wright, we still need to take 20 wickets.

I agree, which would probably mean Broad keeping his place as we would need to bat at 7 in Freddie's place, with Swann at 8 and Anderson at 9.

Given Trott & Sidebottom have been called up, suggests that Ravi & Broad are under serious pressure.

I'm chuffed to bits for Trott, but it's a bold call up that one.

Another South African called up in Trott, Fredie won't be happy

He is in good form but is he a better option than Rob Key?? I suppose he's more liable to bat lower in the order than Key would so maybe he's got that going for him.

I don't keep much tabs on the county cricket scene, but is this Trott any good?

I remember reading a few months back someone moaning about Ashley Giles being a selector, saying he'll have everybody from Warwickshire in the team, then I see Trott being called up and I'm just wondering; is he deserving of his place, or have his ties with Warwickshire got him in ahead of others more deserving?
