Where does it say this in the literature? AFAIK, as a club member and an existing pass holder, you have the
opportunity to renew your pass a week/2 weeks earlier than everyone else but you don't HAVE to. I have read that you have til 30th Sept to get your pass at the discounted rate- if they haven't sold out by then.
Of course if you have a favourite seat then it makes sense to secure your seat early. But if you are just an east-stander then you could risk waiting a few weeks.
I still think this is going to cause a few heartaches for people who have seat passes who are non-Club members when the come to renew their pass and find someone else has secured their spot. I don't think this has been communicated at all well and feels very "last minute". I feel sorry for those people- money doesn't just appear from nowhere and to find a lot of money a month or two before expected will be beyond many families' budgets.
They've tried to sell it (the Club Rovers scheme) on the positives without fully explaining the negatives.
I have joined Club Rovers as I'm lucky enough to be able to afford it but as you may be able to gather, although I don't disagree with the principle of Club Rovers but do feel it has been rolled-out incredibly badly. I hope there won't be a backlash from supporters when the reality bites.
(I joined over the internet- all I got was a match ticket look-a-like ticket as a receipt through the post- does anyone know how I can tell if I'm one of those who gets a reduced derby ticket?)
If we were 4th bottom rather than 4th top then I think it'd be hard to sell but with things as they are they'll probably ease it through.
