absolutely and I really think his diabetes and his previous serious injury have played a part in his dip in form

It is quite obvious that the old R Horne has left the building and what we are left with is a highly paid "stand-off" that is a pale shadow of his former self. He looks weak, he seems to have lost a yard of pace, he has no creativity whatsoever, his kicking is woeful and he seems to have no confidence in anything that he does.
If we could sign Ratchford or someone of equal ability, I would let him leave with his waste of space brother.
you are obviously unaware of how diabetes can affect the "normal" person when it is not controlled without the added extras of playing sport

The whole team is not performing and he is playing behind a set of forwards that have been punching below there weight all season. The ball never gets back in time or gets to players who simply drive it in or the half backs get it far too late.
Next year not even Long will be able to play behind a beaten pack. Even with the reinforcements due to arrive ( visa's permitting ) they are not on there own going to shore up that pack.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.;

Maybe just maybe this is why Thorman is so crap this season too?

Richard is a truly outstanding player who has suffered a loss of form as the season has progressed for whatever reason, injury,weight,confidence i don't know, but i tell you 1 thing he will be back
He is playing without a recongised scrum half, we have no leader to get the players around the park, plays behingd a beaten pack most weeks
I will judge Rich next seaon when he has the players around him and has had a season to try and manage his illness properley Form is tempoary,class is permanent
Sounds like the same excuse the Board are using for Rich Agar's $hite season too!

With regards to Horne I don't think he has ben as bad as some make out this season. The first 6/7 games he played very well but he has struggled in the last couple of months albeit he did well against Rovers. I honestly maintain what I said at the beginning of the season about him, that is that this season is very muhc a learning curve for him due to his illness. He lost a lot of weight last season and trying to put that back on aswell as dealing with his diabetes will not have been easy and he will have learnt from what he has done this season.
He still looks a little frail to me but with a better pack, Long and Tansey in place and hopefully more awareness of what works for him in terms of his diet I still have every faith he will get back to his best.
Richard Horne once had potential to be something special. Most people who watched his early junior progress agreed. Unfortunately he never reached the dizzy heights predicted and therefore expected by the fans. He has been an excellent servant to the club , a very solid defender and totally committed but when Cooke left he was exposed as very much the support act and never a half. Regrettably the people in charge of his career continued to believe he was creative and a leader when he patently is not. That in conjunction with his injuries and illness has created the Rich Horne we have now who is very ordinary and at times pretty awful.
I hope he can get back to health and fitness and that a proper coach can find the key to him and he can once again be part of a good FC team. I wouldn't play him again this year , just let him have time out to get sorted. What's the point of punishing him for the next 6 weeks as Agar plans to?
If we can find a creative or running 6 then a fit Horny would do a job for us in the centre otherwise if he plays 6 someone needs to tell him he's only allowed to kick short.
