I completely agree Vic..

In addition I also fondly remember these two games too.. first game back against the Wire and away!!!!! Was that the one were McCurrie scored to nick the game??

Also St Helens away.. what a blinding atmosphere that was that day.. we got dicked on but we never gave up singing.. you would think we were coasting... scored a late consolation try and started singing 'we're going to win the league..'

I also remember that season.. one lad for some reason at all away games would just start screaming the lyrics to Mysterious Girl at random points during the match... and this was before Peter Andre burst back onto the scene.. brilliant :D :D

Your point is??

Well done to Celtic - hopefully they'll go on to be a success.

What a great time that was. I remember all those games like they were yesterday.

What a start to the season, I remember going on holiday the day of the Cas game and getting a text saying we were winning something like 28-6 at half time. The Wire game was dreadful but all that mattered was we won. Even the Salford and London games away, really tense Sky games that we won. The Fax game was a strange one, really hot day with terrible defence and I think we'd all got a bit complacent. I just remember everybody suddenly being really frustrated.

The Leeds game was the pinnacle though. I could only listen to it on the radio and I was shaking afterwards. Probably haven't been as nervous until the Fax game in the NRC. Utterly painful to listen to but when we'd won just pure relief.

All this does is prove that Promotion and relegation doesn't work as it is plain to see that with a NL GF in late July a club cannot recruit a good enough squad to compete in SL

On the other hand

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

London away was fantastic, around 2000 Widnes fans at Griffin Park they said that day. Remember it was a Saturday evening televised fixture too, which made the away support all the more impressive.

You'll probably find it was the carer that typed it for him. They must have spent an hour or more decyphering the crayon scrawl written on the padded wallpaper in his 'quiet' room.

IF YOU WANT TO WIN IT YOU'VE GOT TO EARN IT.
