agreed - but iirc the fans made it known pretty sharpish that it was tasteless.

Umbro are a Manchester brand, the club is based in Manchester (the only club based in the city) and club continue to do lots of great community-based work in Manchester. Not to mention, they pick up the best young talent in the city.

Doesn't change the fact that he's managed to do exactly what he wanted to do here, though.
Or more appropriately, Ferguson has managed to do exactly what we wanted here.
You can't whack the irony in a bloke saying that we talk about them all the time whilst talking about us at very great length in a rather condascending manner.
In reality, he has just given us a big back-handed compliment by showing everyone how rattled he has been by the whole thing.
MANCHESTER CITY - PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 2011-12 BORUSSIA DORTMUND - BUNDESLIGA CHAMPIONS 2011-12 CELTIC - SPL CHAMPIONS 2011-12 ALEMANNIA AACHEN - HOPELESS 2011-12 ST. HELENS RLFC - ER.. 3 OUT OF 5 AIN'T BAD!

pedant mode on and sorry for having to refer to wiki
'Umbro (LSE: UMB) is a UK sportswear and equipment supplier based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, England.'
'Cheadle is a small town in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport in Greater Manchester'
'The Metropolitan Borough of Trafford is a metropolitan borough of Greater Manchester'
what is and isn't in Manchester seems to vary dependent on the point you want to make.

By the way, on the Cheadle point, it does seem that our blue brethren change the Mancunian boundaries as and when it suits.
Does someone want to tell them where Cheadle actually is?
