Atkins has had more than his chance and failed to kick on, there is now a player in Murphy that is waiting his chance to oust glamour boy, I hope JK doesn't wait too long to give him that chance otherwise we might lose another good home grown player.
At the moment, I can't see anything at all to suggest Murphy could make a better centre than Atkins.

That's probably because you've only seen him on the wing Murphy is a centre, came into the academy as a centre and was being coached as a centre before he made the step up to the first team, given half the time that Atkins has had to prove himself as a centre at first team level he will prove to be twice the player.
haywire...murphy can pass the ball..prima donna doesn't..as for RDM..you are a complete and utter fool..remember that jk is stuck with the majority of the squad he inherited. last year people were slagging wilkes, this year imo he has stepped up..so called loyal wakey supporters slagged snitch coming back..also been great...brought back korky..another inspired decision...peterson has been unlucky but outside atkins, he might as well not be there and he has had injuries. we have made massive strides this year and next year with so many players leaving jk will show us his true abilty as coach

It would be interesting to see the two switch, Atkins playing outside of Murphy. I just think Atkins is wasted at centre and unless the line is begging, which happens few and far between, the move often breaks down with Atkins and his inability to pass to his wing.

In that case, then fair enough. I don't watch the academy. As I said, not seen anything myself that suggest he has the power or skill to play centre - but this is based on SL games only. From what I have seen, he could potentially make a good SL winger - but if he has shown more in the Academy/Alliance then it remains to be seen if he can do it at the highest level.

From an outsider looking in I don't know how much you value my input, but I really don't think you need to panic about getting in the play offs whatsoever.
To put it bluntly you've gone toe to toe with the best sides in Super League in Leeds Saints Huddersfield and afew other teams in and about the play off spots, and it must be difficult to back that up week on week.
With a few fixtures against teams nearer the bottom of the table I think normal service will be resumed and you will start showing what you can do again.
I wouldnt bet against a Cas v Wakey clash in the play offs!

As we are all counting, I've been watching for 35 years now (admittedly I was young at the start?!?! and followed home and away for many seasons)
JK is the best I have seen. We have good and bad times, and coaches but I have never seen a coach so influencial on the team and individual players.
To talk of getting rid if we don't make the playoffs is rediculous. Any season we don't finish bottom is good as far as our budget is concerned.
The fact that we have been 1 away from bottom for a long time in Super League was good but since JK has arrived we have been argueing over which playoff place we should have. Get some perspecive man!
You say now we have to win 3 to get playoff place. I would agree. So as that's perfctly possible.....why not join the rst of us and just support them while they attempt to do it!?

Good for you for posting that. I agree. I look forward to a rematch in the playoffs
Not read all the posts in detail but to suggest we show Kear the door if we dont make the play offs is madness.
I can probalbly top most on here as I have watched us for 45 years (yes I'm an old sod) and I've seen good times and many bad. In the good times we has good support, money and good players and were successful. Since then we've struggled particularly financially and John Kear taking into account our limited finances (probably the lowest wage bill in SL) is the best coach I've seen at Belle Vue.
We have progressed, we can match the best in SL but not on a regular basis, thats we we are an average side and not a good side (Leeds, Saints being good). To be a good side we need to spend the full cap and be on a level playing field with the rest. That will only come with a new ground and hopefully increased income so we will have to be patient.
I think we are pulling together a good team for 2010, okay there will be departures but the signs look good to me.
As Mutts says "IN KEAR WE TRUST" - lets stop this talk of P45's.
Oh and by the way, who'd be on the wing outside Atkins - might as well bring a deck chair and a book - no wonder Side Show has gone, probably looking to reintroduce himself to a ball as he hever saw one whilst he was here.
