Give him a shot a few games and we'll see if he is finished at superleague level, not playing him doesnt help anyone.

Seems I've touched a nerve. Fitzy was shocking under the high ball when he was playing earlier this season and his positioning at times was very poor which led to a number of tries for opposition teams that might well have been avoided.

I actually would like to see him back in the first team now. He's been given a few games in the reserves to get back to fitness again and given the fact that we're paper thin in terms of depth in the backs it only makes sense for him to come back into the side.

Along with Stuart Littler I feel that he shouldn't be in the side next season if we're going to improve though.

Fitzy is more reliable under the high ball than wilshire the problem at the begining of the season were teams were turning him around just like we did to wellans when we beat saints, with his fitness and confidence level low he lacked the zip to get to the danger and clear his lines.

Time will tell if he can recapture his former glory.

Yeah I probably worded it wrong - I think Fitzy is more confident when actually taking the high ball but Wilshere is actually in the position to take the ball on the full more often. I lost count of the number of times I saw Fitzy running around like a headless chicken after the ball had gone up in the air because he was nowhere near the ball and was unable to judge the position correctly.

I am sure it has been said before that we would like to see Fitzy in the half backs rather than full back. After all that where he played for swinton

Ahead of Smith? Myler?? Ratchford???

He's been playing at half back in the reserves, without too much success and has never had any success in that position at this level (ignoring a one-off performance at Wire that springs to mind).

He may have a chance of squeezing into the first team at full back, but not in the halves I doubt.

I agree with that Fitzy had the pace to get into position during his glory seasons at salford before his injurys, since his injury problems he has lost a couple of yards fiz n the fact he is physically bigger up top because of extra training and the fact he'll try and run over and through people rather than hitting the gaps between the tacklers.

Problem is if your not quick enough you get hurt, he is as brave as a lion but no point being brave if your not quick enough to get to the ball first.

I hope he comes flying back to his best we have reaily missed him imo
