When in a group of six opposed to a solitary individual I often find it necessary to strike first in self-defence, can't see why anyone would be surprised.

One of the best achievements of any team last year. I don't doubt that.

Doesn’t mean fans had an entertaining time. I cannot believe that Everton fans in any season in the last 10 years had as much entertainment as City fans had when Keegan was boss in Div (i.e. Championship).

Someone said on here I hate 'Everton'. I don't. I dislike United, Spurs and Leeds, and possibly Oldham and Portsmouth.

I do find Everton's football-style boring. I went to watch them play Spurs at White Hart Lane. I was hoping you would win. However, I thought the antics of your players – diving around anywhere within 40 yards of goal – was disgraceful. You were desperate to win free-kicks and from there put high balls into the box. Fair enough if you have a set-piece taker like Arteta and players who are effective in the air. However, in terms of entertainment, it was dire to watch. It wasn’t as bad as watching City under Pearce, but it wasn’t far off. But then Pearce had kids and no money at all. Certainly nowhere near as much as Everton have spent.

I doubt I will ever think, "We could win the league”

Our football can be boring at times but if you think all we do is hoof the ball then you clearly haven't been watching many Everton games over the past 3-4 years. We play the ball on the floor and play a passing game.

But I'd rather win 1-0 and play boring than lose 4-3 in an 'entertaining game'.

Everton are a model club that every other time outside the top 4 should strive to be like. Proving that hard work gets results. Its not all about spedning big money. See Newcastle, Leeds, Tottenham et al.

Thing is, hard work has got us to were we are now and we have the ambition for greater things.

Man City needed £ for your ambition.

Thing is, i'd love us to have City's money, simple as. But we haven't. But that doesn't mean were spiraling out of control like you suggest.

I never said you were spiralling out of control, I just don't think you can progress any further the way things stand financially. It's inevitable that over the next two to three years that the bigger money clubs just behind you will overtake you.

Everton have, indeed, been a model club for all those on limited resources to follow but they have pretty much achieved all that could have been expected and probably more. The next level is going to be a step too far without major investment. We have that investment and we therefore now have that opportunity.

Hard work can only take you so far and, unfortunately, that isn't going to be enough to break the big four.

In the end, how long will your manager, undoubtedly one of the best there is, hang around at a club who cannot provide him with the Championship/Champions League football he deserves?

MANCHESTER CITY - PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 2011-12
BORUSSIA DORTMUND - BUNDESLIGA CHAMPIONS 2011-12
CELTIC - SPL CHAMPIONS 2011-12
ALEMANNIA AACHEN - HOPELESS 2011-12
ST. HELENS RLFC - ER.. 3 OUT OF 5 AIN'T BAD!

Any team with Arteta in the line up certainly wouldn't "hoof it up"

You referred to a piece of legislation that didn't exist. I pointed it out. You did get it wrong. You now appear to be arguing that, simply because it came first it's somehow called the Race Discrimination Act.

Your attempts to argue to the contrary do you a disservice.

I said that is what it is known as, widely amongst people who work in that area.

Ian [77] wrote:I assume this post is because you are cross because I pointed out that there is no such thing as the Race Discrimination Act? You really are making yourself look rather silly here.

"All United fans respect Liverpool". You honestly believe that?

You made an assumption that was plainly incorrect. You obviosuly don't know many United fans. I simply don't like 'plastics', speaking on behalf of a large group of people.

To be kind, I will say your view that "All United fans respect Liverpool" is naive.

Are you a plastic Salford fan or plastic city fan then? As you have made it clear you must be one or the other.
