I'll spell it out for you. I'm a qualifed accountant, so thanks all the same but I know how to read a set of accounts.
Rovers Balance sheet at 30/11/2007 shows total debt of £2.4m.
As at the balance sheet date, Rovers owed amounts of £1.6m which were repayable within one year, and a further £0.8m which was due to be repaid after more than one year. Hence a total debt of £2.4m.
I notice you have now deleted the rather ill thought-out analysis, although it is quoted by others. You have called me a liar when that is clearly not the case. Feel free to apologise.

All interesting stuff, for accountants and those of a similar logic based persausion, but for me as long as we're still putting a team out on the park (even if that be East Park) I'll only ever be a Robin.

They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Your a qualified account so why didn't you use Net current liabilities? Surely that takes into account the amount we owe falling within the year minus debtors stocks and money in the bank?

You can cherry-pick ratios and sub totals that suit you all day long. Rovers have total creditors/debt of £2.4m. This is exactly the same measure as we talk about at FC (and was screeched about by your chum Vicenzo for years on end), which, coincidentally was also £2.4m at its worst, but fortunately has now been reduced to £1.4m. The fact that your net current liabilities are £1.3m (ours are £0.5m BTW) is hardly something to get excited about
I suggest you get back on topic, as the moderators will have you.
