Richard has been out-of-sorts this season and I hope it's not a permanent dip caused by his condition. He has been great for us and I hope he will be again soon.

I've never really rated him as highly as others do. He doesn't do anything to warrant it. He's a squad player like his brother. I know he has a good attitude and for that reason he deserves his place in the squad but I think Whiting is a better player.
One of the reasons Hull have been struggling is because there are too many players in the squad like him. Been here for ever and not likely to go.

Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. And you will know I am the (Dark) Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you."

You are far from being the only one who thinks Whting should be given a go in the halves. No one really thinks we are going to win this game the way things are, so come on Mr Agar take that chance, I've said it before and I'll say it again: You know it makes sense!

Personally, I think we could play Whiting at stand-off and give G Horne a crack at loose forward. Might as well give something different a go.

Rich Horne's place in the team for me was based on his rugged defence , strength and reliability with an occasional show and go. Never a "make something happen" half back , always more of a centre to me. He looks almost frail at the moment though and one can only assume he's struggling to get condition back after his illness which means he's lost the best part of his game. He'd be better taking the rest of the season off and trying to get back to where he was for next year. Maybe he would have done that if we weren't so desperate for players.

Exactly. We are well into 'nothing to lose' territory.

Steady on, tiger. Just because Horne is playing poorly now doesn't mean that he's been poor in the past. People seem to easily forget his contribution over the last decade and use his current performance as 'proof' that he was never any good anyway.
Horne is a running SO. That's his best position. He can do a good job in other positions but IMO that's just tinkering around.
At the moment he's not really contributing wherever he plays, and that points to either some lingering effect from his injury or him not getting on top of his diabetes.

Horne is really a support player, who sometimes does somthing special, still due to not having a decent 7, he is asked to do a different role or doesnt get the support of his halfback partner. If he played if Saints, Leeds or dare a say it even Rovers he would score loads of trys.

I agree that Horne has looked a shadow of his former self recently, but let's not forget that Berro's also looked very poor in the halves, and before that average from hooker. Just because Thorman's out the side let's not just switch the finger pointing to another individual. It is the majority letting us down!
