I will renew my season ticket next season & rejoin forever reds & will be there home & away, but this has not been a good season.
Yes some highlights along the way but the rugby has not been enjoyable.
Blind faith yes, I must have because I have not enjoyed this season, I am not happy with the way the club as kept us in the dark over the most important development in the clubs history.
Fans are frustrated & the view being expressed by some fans that they will not renew there season ticket I fully understand. They then should not be subject to being told to f... o.. because they are fed up with the false promises the club keep giving, all I can say is to those who say we don't need you, welcome to the empty stadium next year because this view is growing & this is not just the view of a few numpty's
I actually expected us to finish in the bottom 3 but it is the rugby we have played & the lack of progress by the club which I believe is causing the disenchantment amoung the fans
Wait for the abuse, I probably be told to go now that we don't need fans like me.

Sexy rugby it isn't but would you swap positions with Celtic? They've managed to throw the ball around a bit in defeat.

I have had no expectations about where we would finish & as a Salford fan I don't want to be bottom but don't kid yourself about the type of rugby we have played.
I have watched us come up many times & finish second to bottom on many occasions but fans actually still enjoyed there rugby, I cannot say that about this years rugby.
I will be there next season hoping as most fans do that next season will be better, but I am not wearing rose coloured tints & I was expressing a point of view that I understand some fans frustration at the brand of rugby being played & that they should be entitled to express a view without being told to f... o..

I wont reply to your post with any other comment except as to answer you questions.
1)Combined Mind - very funny, glad the university education worked.
2)I have never doubted the boards commitment to the club, but it still doesnt make them effective. You may think surving is a result but they dont.
3)If you want to know i thought we would finish bottom so i am extatic that i am wrong.
4)3yrs ago saints attendence 7000 (and im sure on SKY) this yr 5000, difference 2000 Why people thought it would be a hammering and stay away. 2000 people paying lets say on average a £10, £20k difference on the gate over a season it could be as much as being conservative £200K with the "glory fans going". You work it out. As you have been to Uni read Fortunato, J. (2008) or Shank's book (2005) on sports marketing. People dont watch rubbish
5)online shop yes i agree no demand and it never worked, have a look at the guidelines on the superleague letter released about the ground, it clearly says comercial (http://www.superleague.co.uk/article.php?id=14771). Are online shop and merchandisng etc looks really good on our bid doesnt it?
6)Getting a franchise is past, Superleague are talking about the next one the letter is a warning get it sorted, yes they worked really hard on a bid, but unfortuanlty if the promises on that bid are not meet its not going to matter much what we put next time, cos the league wont believe us.
7)as to going out and splashing the cash, its not there, i no that but my point is this
we are behind the league now, they all spend more or have more superleague experience as we have only just come up. We are therefore probably going to struggle next year as everyone else is spending more and we will probably struggle the year after. Celtic wont be kicked out so who will? Us CAS or Wakey?
WHICH IS WHY THE CLUB HAS TO GET ITS OFF FIELD MANAGEMENT RIGHT AND NOW.
You make a joke about the burger stand tills, i wonder if the club owns them or are they are franchised out, reducing revenue further.
Yes we are not a big club but when ppl within are giving downcast messages and they are in the know, what do you expect others to think?

I call them when they deserve it,
I praise them when they deserve it.
I support the club not individuals.

Kid myself? I'm simply suggesting it's been more affective than Celtic's efforts, although possibly less entertaining.

I've been around a few years myself so I expect we've watched many of the same games. I have never known us to be a particularly free-flowing side in the top division. But that's a little beside the point - all rugby fans crave an entertaining game, I'm no different. The greater problem (on here at least) are the seemingly growing number of delusional folk who seem to understand we have limited resources and crowds yet they whinge beyond reasoning when we can't break the bank to sign/keep players. Pretty basic logic to me?..
I understand the points you are making but let get past some of the posts not worth reading on here & get to the point!
Too many fans are unhappy with what is happening to our club, & I mean good fans we cannot afford to lose.
EX.SAL.UNI we probably have the same feelings for the club & the same passion but I am not prepared to put my head in the sand anymore & say everything will be alright?

If you wish to judge the respective crowd averages at the end of the season I'll gladly listen but I'm pretty confident the sums wont amount to a figure that could entice players any more talented than the ones we have. Oh, and your sports marketeers are wrong - I've been watching Salford for years.

Is it commercially sound to maintain an online shop that nobody uses? Or over-stock a merchandise outlet that nobody is buying from?

What more could the club have done to make those proposals a reality? Why are you trying to attribute blame?

Hardly a revelation is it?

Ahhh, how simple. What does that even mean? You see, this is basically where all of these threads end up: "I think the club isn't perfect, they should make it more perfect. Increase the perfect!" "I think the club should improve the fanbase, maybe try some marketing schemes... Oh, they have tried??... Errrm... How about some more marketing schemes?" "I think we need to win more games by getting better players with all of the money in the board's overflowing pockets"
If you're only advice to the club is "Improve" then it's not really advice is it?

Plenty of us are managing to keep both realistic and upbeat. I pity those that have given up.

I will continue to buy a season ticket, continue to be a member of the forever reds.
I will hopefully raise concerns I have through the forum & as I have said before I am prepared to contribute increased contribution to the forever reds if it meant funding some of the accademy players

I don't want you to do anything, let alone anything more?!
My question was a genuine one, not a sarcastic dig at you.
There seems to be loads of people on here saying 'enough is enough' and other such things but no-one seems to be actually doing anything about it.
I suppose the obvious/easy option would be to stop attending matches/supporting the club but there's no sign of anyone doing that, or at least not in significant numbers.
Personally, I'm quite relatively content with the position the Reds are in so I willl keep doing the same as I've ever done but expect that some those who seem less happy would take some action.
Perhaps it's just apathy (something long associated with Reds fans) but there's plenty of moaning and no evident action. Maybe it's a cultural thing, because staff where I work are much the same at present too.

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book
