The've won 8 of their last 12 league games under smith. If we'd shown the same form we'd be in 4th place.

You keep trying to make your point though

Shame you cant answer the point that Wire made basic errors a plenty last weekend but you don't blame their coach, whereas we made plenty of basic errors at the weekend and you blame our coach. Cock and bull about not having minds on the game is exactly that - cock and bull.

Your inconsistency would get you a place in our starting line up.

Wire have had a small number of poor games in the last 15 or so, which isn't ideal but is sympomatic of sportmen at the top level (it's why the likes of man utd sometimes lose games you wouldn't expect them to). At our club poor play is endemic.

Do you remember when millward got his wigan team amongst us the week before the CC final in 2005? You suggesting our minds were on the wgan game that day?

If you don't understand feel free to come back to me

Wire are fighting for a top 8 place which I have no doubt whatsoever is a major priority for that club. To suggest their minds were on a semi final 3 weeks down the line and it caused them to make numerous errors is one of your more ridiculous fabrications it has to be said. The Warrington players, coached by Tony Smith, were poor in that game in the same way the Hull players were poor against Celtic. It was the players who were responsible for that defeat by failing to apply the basic skills to the required standard. They have a better quality of player in general and will win more games than us no doubt about it. The sooner we remove some of the dross from our squad the better. If Agar does remove some of the wasters then he will have succeeded where several have previously failed. If he fails to coach the side to a top 4 berth next year with the higher quality signings brought in he should go.

 Don't worry - understanding your posts isn't a major issue. My son's Key Stage 1 comprehension homework is more taxing.

It is the hard work done during the game that loosens defenses up for the final quarter. Hull comfortably beat Celtic - the fact that it was in the last 15 minutes is irrelevant. Have SL stopped counting tries in the last fifteen minutes.

Warrington beat Celtic by precisely the same score in the previous week and the reviews were along the lines of "Two second-half tries from full-back Richie Mathers finished off a comfortable evening's work for Warrington Wolves as they condemned the Celtic Crusaders to yet another engage Super League defeat this season."

This will be another entry into the evidence file I'm preparing in order to claim £5 for the reward of the capture of James Rule.

We didn't even look like scoring until the last 10 minutes in a home game, against the worst side in SL by some distance. This was supposed to be in response to the shambles at Cas the week before

Well, it was a response - they were slightly better. They don't want to play too well and spoil the fun on here.

It must have been hard work done invisibly as up to the final 15 minutes we looked, and were, poor. The final scoreline flattered us and it would have been less except that Celtic lost heart imho, when we went back into the lead. Admittedly it was good play by us to score the three tries but it doesn't hide the ineptitude of the previous 65 minutes.

I can keep this thread going all year.

Are we not fighting for a top 8 place?

I haven't seen the wire/hudds game so it's difficult to comment with any great level of knowledge, however let's assume wire had a poor game away against the 3rd best club in the league with probably the 2nd most aggressive defence in the league. It could be argued (although like your assertion it would be pure conjecture) that the defensive effort from hudds caused some, if not all, of the errors. We'll never know will we, however it's more likely that they did than celts defensive efforts forced us into errors.

What is clear is that tony smith is capable of preparing his side to perform at a good standard most weeks. No team can do it every week, the concentration levels and fitness levels required mean it just isn't possible. He has shown a massive turnaround in their form since taking over.

agar has shown nothing to suggest he is capable of doing the same. You can believe that he can if you want but he really isn't as the majority are only too aware

You have to question why a group of players who have shown in the past that they are capable of much more than they are currently achieving are playing so poorly, not being able to demonstrate the most basic of skills. You obviously believe that it's a problem with all of teh players. i believe it to be poor coaching. We're never going to agree on anything. So much so in fact I'm beginning to believe you're my wife. She's always wrong as well

More likely to be due to celts losing 3 players to injuries and running out of steam
