It's possible that the victim didn't actually know it was Gerrard who was hitting him. He could have been so stunned by the initial elbow to the head that he thought that both the initial hit and the barrage afterwards were done by the same person.
Thats what I think so if his first statement says it wasn't Gerrard hitting him he must of changed it and I think whoever told him it was Gerrard will be called up in court as a witness I reckon.
On the video after someone elbowed the DJ the 2nd person who lays into him doesn't look like Gerrard but surely witnesses can either say it was/ wasn't?
Then again on the 2nd bit of cctv you wonder why Gerrard is being held back so vigorously.
