seriously...I believe there is a place at the top table available to many teams outside SL and just because you're not there now, doesn't mean you wont get there. But...rants like the one from your representatives when you didn't get a place HE THOUGHT you deserved will not do you any favours in future Licencing rounds.
Rather than bitching about Celtic (or us or the frog), I would think there were targets nearer to home that should be looked at. Those clubs with oragami stadiums (they look good on paper) and other failings are more likely to fall that Catalan (good crowds, good results) Quins RL (b4stard child of the RFL and SKY) and Celtic (Like they will admit they made a mistake). There are at least 3 clubs in the same "c" bracket as us that have yet to deliver on the biggest promise......stadia and you have one that is spot on.

We had one last time
Problem is the RFL promised that all criteria would be fairly judged so when you are stood in front of a 95 % completed stadium with 6 months before a ball is kicked and they refuse to let it be part of your application it is understandable that people are not too happy
Doubt very much Alan's outburst will make any difference to us getting back into SL
That will only happen if somebody goes tits up financially

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

As for Allan Rowley, he came out with a statement that was universally condemned by almost the whole of Rugby League and embarrassed the club of Leigh. Most people see him as indicative of how unprofessional Leigh are. He might be a nice bloke but he should have left the club. He is hampering any chance you could possibly have of applying for Super League.
So you think that a press conference to answer questions was the sum total of clubs applications for SL
Idiot
I dont remember seeing anybody condemn him except a few fans on here , mostly fans of clubs that had got a franchise , in fact the vast majority of fans of the clubs that missed out were in support of what he said , especially Widnes fans
As I said your Mr O Connor rang him to congratulate him on having the balls to stand up for what he and many of your fans believed , I have no doubt that had Widnes got the spot Alan would have congratulaed them

Where did he say that then? He said he saw your presentation, he didn't say it was the sum total of your application. But it certainly speaks volumes when the details of your club's assets were presented so poorly.

The application like everybody else's was a document , I doubt the RFL even saw the press conference outlining the details of the bid to the local press
The RFL dont want us , never will , hopefully they are not stupid enough to deny you

They've been stupid enough plenty of times before!
Oh to have a Bill Gatesian fortune. Sure, I'd be corrupt. I'd be more corrupt than Red Hall. But I'd be corrupt in favour of lancashire. Oh yes.

Press conference, where did I mention a press conference? It was a video presentation outlining why Super League should give Leigh a franchise and it was rubbish. It looked like it had been made by a 12 year old, but it hadn't, it was from the Leigh club. It didn't stay up very long because it was getting slated.
If you want to get personal you've shown yourself up for being an idiot by not being able to read.
The quote was massively condemned at the time by anybody with a brain. Whether most of the fans were thinking that or not, a professional organisation should not come out with remarks like those. They could have expressed disappointment and regret but to say that the RFL should 'hang their heads in shame' just smacks of an amateur organisation. It has massively hindered Leigh's chances of ever being a Super League club again, which is why I am amazed that he is still at the club.

You are getting confused with what you percieved things to be regards the ' presentation ' it was put on the internet because fans requested it , if it had influence on something as important as the licence applications then that shows how pathetic our ' rulers ' are
As regards the quotes , yes maybe they were not ' PC ' , but they were the truth
Maybe some people dont like the truth , but I always prefer it to ' BULL '
As I said earlier , thats why our sport is like it is
Your opinions are yours and you are welcome to them , you dont know all the facts , niether do I , what I do know is the RFL could have saved a lot of people a lot of trouble and money , but as usual they didn't have the balls for that
I'll not comment further

On here...as in the Widnes board? I seem to recall a fair bit of debate on the Leigh board at the time with plenty of Leigh fans understanding the emotion behind his statement but also acknowledging it wasn't the best of responses.
