I'd say that claiming that the fans had a "detrimental effect" on the performance of the team is criticising them wouldn't you?

I've been waiting for you (Rich ) to come out with "we scored 22 points" what next "it's a sign of a good side that doesn't play well but still gets the result"

In my opinion he shouldn't have said anything with regards the fans....he should have played it with a straight bat and deflected it away. I do feel as though this has detracted from what was a poor performance in Friday, all anyone is doing is talking about this issue.....maybe that is what he wanted?
At times I'd love to criticise or make a 'comment' regarding my customers but as a professional i don't!

The 2 aren't entirely mutually exclusive though, are they? It's like fans saying that Agar and the players are useless, overpaid, and serving up the worst brand of rugby in SL. Both observations and criticisms.

I do agree - he has shot himself in the foot. I was not surprised to see this thread appear, nor to se the general flavour of the comments within it.

No they are not - but I think that people ae happy to read ngativity into his comments because they dislike Agar as a coach. The comments were ill-advised but I think hae been blown out of proportion.
