Gains an average of 8.6 metres per carry and has made 36 offloads from 216 hit ups. Whilst i agree he'd be a decent signing i think his overall effectiveness is being a tad over stated.

Whilst I go on the fact he mashes us every game and dont give a crap about stats as they change for every team played against his overal effectiveness I would suggest is sign him up.
Calld up for England is I admit a declaration of his poor play.

Where have i said he is poor???
The point i was making is that if you are expecting 10 and 20 metre hit ups consistantly from the guy you're in for shock.

I can't see Chev, Fitz, Mills, Stanley or Makali being here next season.
Due to the quota rulings, don't we have to lose one of our overseas contingent anyways? If that is the case we would need to lose two off our team to bring one in.
I'd like to see us bring in another centre to act as cover, I don't see anything wrong with Webster and Welham as our starting centres. An impact prop would compliment Vella, Fozzard and Wheeldon well also. Crabtree would be an excellent signing imo, just depends on his availability and willingness to move clubs.
I actually don't think we would need to bring too many more players into our side to be a threat to the top 2. So hopefully our recruitment will have a "quality not quantity" aspect to it.

The 'revolving door' recruitment has finished now , as stated in the recent YP article we should be looking at a couple of quality additions for next season.
As for Crabtree would be a good signing but as he is contracted for 2010 at Huddersfield , I doubt he will be at Rovers next season.

Cooke is average, sorry. Wouldnt be missed by me. Fisher I like but a faster more mobile and off loading hooker is needed to compliment.
Walker is pants. How many times am I going to read that the next game is his time to shine. Lazy, run out of line, miss the tackle waste of good cap money. A good in your face, offloading, metre gaining forward like Mr Crabtree would be welcomed as well.
People harp on about Netherton. Good honest pro but doesnt pull up trees. Wouldnt be missed to be honest. Forwards these days need to either gain 20 metres or be off loading after gaining 10. Gone are the days of running 5 yards and dropping.
The rest of the squad would miss him trust me.
They love having him out on the field doing a share of their defensive work as well as his own.

The game is a squad game now more than ever and Nev is a good squad player.
He should be retained IMO.
