Am I just over reacting? but if this is true what the hell is going on? who is picking the team? I dont hold McRae's tactics in high regard anyway, but I am shocked if team suggestions are coming from "senior officials."

By the way I think it was daft to move Ratchford in the first place, and if he is moved back to stand off good. But my moan is the principle of the thing doesnt the coach and his staff pick the team? If officals etc are pressuring, then surely the coach is a lame duck and should go on principle?

More than likely the players.
They got Alker reinstated and have also swayed a few other decisions in the past.
McRae needs a kick up the booty to show him that what he is doing is wrong. If it is the players telling him this then even better.
He might realise what a tool he has been then.

I think the worst thing about this is the pressure it puts on Stefan Ratchford:

If the coach does play him at stand-off is that his geniune decision, showing faith and belief or has he just been pressured by "senior officials" so how does that make Steff feel?

If he plays him at stand-off and then Stef has a mare - who gets the blame?

Senior Officials can only be club captain, vice-captain or directors surely?

Chief Exec, Asst Coach, Director of Football, ... ?

To be fair i think if Rachford is reinstated to standoff and Smith is put back to scrum half would allow us to move forward, if myler has to play then put him on the bench and bring him on like paul does everyweek.
I wouldnt see it as putting pressure on rachford to perform, when given the chance to play in his natural position so far this season he has been brilliant and lets hope he continues to take the pressure and turn it into a positive performance once again

Its probably more about trust reaily amongst the team, how can you expect everyone to put everything on the line if as a team they are not together. i think we'd perform better if everyone was committed to the cause long term, if people are looking to move on keep it to themselves give 100% for you, the team and the shirt your wearing for the rest of the season and move on gracefully, if you or somebody on your behalf keeps bleeting on about how your moving on to bigger and better things and you arnt walking on water everyweek regardless if you have been out injured or not your teammates as a unit arnt going to do that bit extra to make you look good.

I hope Mcrae sends the same team with turner isntead of Goulding and myler instead of paul on the bench that beat saints in the last home game.

I personally thought that Shaun McRae made a mistake in changing the team for last Saturday and equally it would be an even bigger mistake for anyone to take Neil Barkers comments with anything but a pinch of salt.

I noticed against St Helens that all the other reporters had moved to a new position apart from Neil so that could be a sign of why the stirring up is taking place.
