Steve Prescott Foundation
Prescott’s Pirates 11th July Pugney’s Wakefield

The Steve Prescott Foundation took part in the inaugural Dragon Boat Competition at Pugney’s Lake Wakefield last Saturday 11th July.

This event was used for training for the forthcoming Steve Prescott Carnegie Challenge which will start on August 17th from the Stade Gilbert Stadium Perpignan. 24 people will Cycle 800 Miles 24 Miles Dragon Boat down the Thames an a Half Marathon Run into Wembley delivering the Carnegie Challenge Cup Ball to Wembley in time for the Kick Off.

19 Teams took part and after four races the Prescott Pirates managed to win the competition by 0.7 Seconds over a Asda Select team who were the pre event favourites as they were very experienced in Dragon Boating.

Chris Joynt, Steve Prescott, Steve Hampson, Gary Connolly, Lee Jackson were joined by Former Saints Bradford Featherstone great Paul Newlove but the real star of the team was Jimmy Gittins who 6 years ago was told he would never walk again following a horrific injury playing Rugby League which Left Jimmy “Quadraplegic”.

This achievement highlights the main aim of the Steve Prescott Foundation which is show people who are suffering from terrible diseases or horrific disabilities, that it can be possible to achieve improbable goals.

If you want to support Steve on this fantastic challenge can you please donate online to www.steveprescottfoundation.com/donate
