Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer posters who I would call sensible on there nowadays. I spend more time on TotalRL instead now due to people who must be no more than kids, acting like the fans that annoy us from the likes of Saints, and Wigan during their prime. The difference being we haven't won anything yet.
There is actually grounds for a decent discussion on this subject, as to why people think it is that this game doesn't capture the Wigan fan's imagination.
Many Wigan fans who state they don't care about the crowd are deluding themselves. As RL fans we are obsessed with crowds, and I'm sure Wigan fans would be made up had they sold all of their allocation 3 weeks ago and the game was sold out by now.
Unfortunately, the tone of the first lot of posters (from both sides) mean that a decent discussion just won't happen.

Do you know something we don't, or have you got the wrong end of the stick, again?
Go on, tell us all what you know.
Thousands of free ticket were given away by heinz for the game. Nothing wrong with that, i say well done Wigan and heinz, hope it brought new fans to our game.

A decent wire fan for once.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS

Seriously people go on about some fans being arrogant but the Wigan fans saying "well it is Wires cup final" as an excuse for not selling all your tickets is the most arrogant and contemptuous statement you could possibly hear.
Yes you do get more fans week in, in wigan athletics stadium and personally i hope you start to sell it out every game (for the good of the game) but to say "we are Wigan, we don't do semi finals" is frankly shocking.
Even if wire get to every semi for the next 30 years we'd always treat it with more respect then 'some' of your 'fans' are at the moment.
If you can't go fair enough but don't spout out Wigan fans are bigger than a semi final.
You watch, a week before the semi final......hundreds of wiganers moaning online and in the papers that they cannot get a ticket as it has sold out and it's a disgrace that it's at Widnes and not a bigger ground like the Reebok.

They were not free tickets. They were paid for by Heinz.
Very generous of the company to those members of staff who got them, but a block booking is a block booking, not a free ticket giveaway.
