Not really your 1st game as such but why did you go down that 1st time
Mine was 1977, my dad had just died and my best friends dad used to come and get me and take me down with his son, probably to give me mum a couple of hours off
Thats why i 1st got down, i was 9 at the time
Was it down to family? or for the newer fans, was it a free ticket or something similar?

I have been a Arsenal fan all my life and was taken to Highbury by my late grandad. Moved up here when I met my wife and I really missed my football and traveling got to me going down every other week, but was giving a free ticket to watch Town V Bolton and I just could not get into it after watching and cheering Arsenal all my life, BTW Town won 3-2.
I then watched GBR V NZ (McAlpine) on TV, I think the game was a draw and I really got into it. Anyway someone said they play RL down there, so I went down to the stadium and I met a lass called Sharon and explained I know jack about egg chasing and I need a hobby to take up.
She showed me all around the stadium from ticket office to stands to changing rooms, so I thought right I'm going to get a season ticket and I went on my own for a few games ,then took a mate, then our wives came along, then sis-in-law & bro-in-law came and then the mother-in-law and the best bit was my son going to his first game when he was 2 weeks old.
So this will be my 7th season watching the mighty Giants and I can honesty say I don't miss football one bit and one other positive I have made some great friends from this board and still continue to do so.
One final point - A southern guy has got 10 people watching Giants through me, and these people have lived all their lives in Huddersfield.
Oopps nearly forgot my first game!

Report Have a look at the squad back then and that includes a great REf at the time

I think it was a big challenge cup game so my dad took me down.
I was only a toddler and the crowd looked huge but looking back it was maybe around 4000ish

It was 1990 when i was 12. I used to ask my mum where dad went every sunday afternoon. She said "next week, i'll get him to take you". I went the next week and 19 years later i'm still there!!! GIANTS FOREVER
