Considering this, at this stage, do you have faith that he'll come through with the signings?
How can I know? He's been in charge of the club for only a year and a half. We haven't signed any world-beaters, I agree, but there's plenty time yet. I'm guessing the guy will be here for a quite a few years yet.
Plenty people use the phrase "He's in the bag" but they don't say "He's signed". Carvell was in the bag at Saints!
After the Kearney embarrassment the Aussie agent saying he was dealing with a club but couldn't say due to the confidentiality agreement smacked of Wigan RL. Anyone could see Wigan going that way after Kearney.
I now don't think we'll get an clue who we've signed until the club announce it.
There may not many signings either, as there is the possibility of a new coach coming in he may want a year to look at players and how they respond to him and play for him.
Instead of loaning players out perhaps we could look at bringing one in on loan 'til the end of the season.

That simply highlights the fact that negotiations had taken place and Warrington came out on top with there package.
I do not for one minute think he is on some of the figures that were quoted, but as i said earlier, given his age, standing in the game rep past and future and the fact other clubs were in for him I would be very surprised if he were on less than £200k a year basic.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

All I know is that he isn't the highest paid player at Warrington, and the one that is isn't on more than £200k. In fact, I would question how many player in SL are on more than £200k.
Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

IL is a poor negotiator and has missed out on
Chev Walker
Gareth Carvell
Rihard Moore
Shaun Briscoe
Terry Newton (Swap deal for higham)
Michael Dobson
Greg Bird
Sean Long
Stephen Kearney
Ryan Mcgoldrick
not that i would have had most of them players anyway. Not many people want to play for wigan anymore.

Signings who would have probably added to our team based on previous performances/reputation

I just take exception to the ridiculous figures being banded about. I only know one thing that is factual; King is not the highest earner at Warrington and the highest earner is not on a salary above £200k.
My theory on his release is something along the lines of; at Melbourne he may have been on $200/220k Aus, we go in with an offer of £150k, with the exchage rate at the time providing an offer in the region of $340 Aus, with the shenagans of image rights, it may have taken it closer to $400 Aus. What would you do if the opportunity to almost double your salary for a guaranteed period came along?
Instant headline; King signs $1.6 million contract.
I don't believe for a second that a quality rep player from Australia who was being chased by several clubs would come over for less than 200k a year.
No offence mate but your source must be wrong or is having you off.

You've got intimate knowledge of the Warrignton pay structure then?
The majority of guesses at wages of players over estimate what they actually are.
I'm not Jesus Christ, I've come to accept that now.
