If true, already signed up for next year we now have:
Berrigan Cusack Manu Lauaki Fitzgibbon O'Meley Cordoba
By that then it seems either:
a) Manu doesn't count from next year and our overseas recruitment is finished; b) Manu doesn't count from next year and somebody else is leaving; c) Manu does count next year and Cordoba is only until the end of the year; d) The Cordoba rumour is rubbish; e) O'Meley failed his medical.
Looking at what is likely, I think it looks like we won't be bringing in any more overseas players and those who have yet to get deals will be leaving. Mixed feelings for me then, we've improved our pack which was desperately needed, but our back line still needs a bit of work and strength in depth.
Manu doesn't count for next year. Neither would Tony if we kept him (unlikely IMO). This is assuming that we've been on the ball with the regs and got the paperwork sorted, mind.
Appears to me that it's finally been realised that our squad needs improvement across the board. It wouldn't be possible to do that all in one season so I guess the pack has been prioritised as it's the foundation for building a successful team. No point in having world class backs if your pack is getting bitched every game like ours has been.
Our back division is good enough to do a job if the pack dominates, and the pack that we're putting together should be one of the better ones next season. At the moment I'm reasonably happy with our recruitment.
Hold on to me baby, his bony hands will do you no harm It said in the cards, we lost our souls to the Nameless One

Could not agree more, we have good backs who just don't get the room or ball to play. With a competitive pack and better distribution from the halves our backline is more than capable of causing teams problems.

I've looked up Healey on the Raiders web site........no player of that name in their 1st team or Toyota cup team

Hull will give us a tough game but the key is to silence their fans in the Threepenny Stand. We have to do this because if we do'nt they will get behind their side and lift them in a way you've never seen, heard or witnessed before.

I agree the pack is the priority, and I am also fairly happy with our recruitment so far. I just think that ideally a bit more experienced option at fullback would have been nice. As you say though, you can only do so much at a time and hopefully Tansey will do well for us there.
With Cordoba and Lauaki bolstering us soon, I would hope that the signs of us trying to play rugby continue as well. Even if we keep losing games, so long as we're working on improving performances and getting away from 5 drives and a kick so that those coming in next year can do so to make a more competitive and entertaining team.
