At the time it just seemed a few slack darts and not much was made of it until afterwards in the interviews.

BTW was it a different Barney on the oche as he had his wife over with him and as far as I saw his guru/manager was nowhere to be seen???

I thought it was strange Ed was not seen this week, they always show him couple of times when he attends and he normally does on every occasion but suppose he might have other things to attend too. I don't think it was a different Barney until last night, this week he has played really well, his wife is normally there tho so that was no different.

I disgaree, they didn't just look slack he was purposely just throwing his darts anywhere on the board, he was waving his hands around and just looked like he was giving up and didn't want to play. The crowd gave him some stick and he deserved it, he was so unprofessional to start throwing like that, commentators sort of hinted about it not being like Barney and they seemed to assume it was because of Taylor's lead but it was nothing like Barney, seemed really strange.

Where is Phil Taylor's wife and daughter as I can't recall seeing them at any events on the TV ?

I'm sure his wife was shown on TV in the crowd, possibly in the Jamie Caven game.

i was thinking it was a better Barney because there seemed less tinkering with things and he was just getting on with it (though debate about his flights reared its head). I think he thinks too much and he would have never done that with the BDO and although a lot was made of his "zen" like state when beating Phil to win the World Title I think hes better just throwing and taking things as they come rather than thinking so deeply or trying to get his mind into a certain zone.

I thought Taylor's wife left him because he'd been 'courting' the walk-on ladies?

Showed her last night during the final. Maybe she only bothers to turn up to the big finals now, glory hunting wife :D

Plus, Sid said earlier in the week he has moved into a big new house, she might have been settling in earlier in the week.

Very true, can't argue with that. Prior to the final I also thought it was a better Barney, he seemed to be throwing better, more flow in his darts and as you say he wasn't tinkering at all. Non of this messing with changing darts or flights during the game he just seemed to get on with it. Maybe he and Ed have parted ways? unlikely i know but never know. SKY seemed to make a big of thing of his "zen" like state, how big a part that all played we probably will never know but, those strange couple of legs in final aside, I think we saw the best Barney since that final, had a couple of 9 dart chances too.

It's been a while since I did see her and wondered if she didn't bother going anymore.

Taylors wife was on during the match last night but only for a few seconds

Did anyone else think that Barney looked and sounded like he had been boozing all day when he started hugging Taylor after the game

That could also explain why he threw away a load of darts when he could have come back and won :?
